My hagwon has a 회식 every term. I love it for two reasons. First, complementary food and drinks. Second, it's a chance for the Korean staff and the foreigner staff to mingle. Because of the nature of our jobs, we don't get as much interaction during the work week.
Anyway, it ends up being a really good time as long as you spend the day before in preparation: sleeping, hydrating, and taking lots of vitamins!
