Airbnb is the way to go if you want a more authentic, local experience. We loved our stay at the Ocean View Studio with Antoinette and Johnny. There home exuded good vibes and tranquility. Although restaurants, shopping, and beaches were easily accessible within a 10 minute drive the studio still felt secluded enough to really feel like home. They also had some adorable cats.

The family also owned a bakery downtown called Evolution Cafe. We went in for a complementary breakfast, but kept coming back for more of their vegan baked good and smoothies.
