Todai Buffet

The day after Cheusoek I met Anne and Charles for a morning Spa Land trip and lunch at Todai. I HAVE to give a shout out to this BOMB buffet.

This buffet has everything you could want... and high quality everything to boot! The menu includes sushi, shashimi, crab, salads, fresh squeezed juice, and made to order steak and stir fry. There is also a variety of Korean dishes, meats, sea food, and desserts.

Usually the cost is 35,000 won, but during weekday lunch it is discounted to 20,000 won!

The sushi was the best I've had in Korea!

Did I mention it's ALL YOU CAN EAT. NOM NOM NOM NOM for days NOM NOM!

Apparently there are Todai Buffets all around the world, even in California. And thank goodness! Because this restaurant surely needs to exist in more places.

Todai Buffet is right off of Centum City subways station. Here is a map. The link shows the location of the building that Todai is inside of.

Burgers and LoL

This was a fabulous night in PNU.

First we went to Valence Burgers. This completely satisfied my burger craving. I hadn't had a burger in quite some time!

The Dracula Burger with garlic sauce!

Then we went in search for a PC Bang (PC room) that supports League of Legends US server. Luckily enough, we found one.

what up!

Directions to Valence Burger
From PNU station, take Exit 3. Make a right and walk to the next intersection. At the intersection, take a left. Valence Burger will be on your left.

Directions to Kakao PC
From PNU station, take Exit 3. Make a right and walk to the next major four way intersection. Continue walking straight to cross the intersection and the building for Kakao PC is on your left. It is on a higher floor.

Ice Cream Party

My coworkers and I always talk about how we love ice cream, so I decided to host an ice cream party in my apartment. Basically, people came over for pizza and ice cream dessert. Everyone was asked to bring ice cream or ice cream topping to share for the party.

Playing apples to apples!

Lots of Baskin Robins goodness!

I got to add some Polaroids to my collection!

Chuseok

Chuseok is akin to Thanksgiving in the United States. Work and school are put on pause. Families gather to eat food.

My work gave us a couple of days off, as well as a gift set. Here's my HUGE box of nuts!

John's Visit V

Here are the last few pictures from John's stay. These pictures are from Seomyeon-- going to the arcade, eating more bbq, and hanging out in a DVD Bang.

At the arcade, John taking my turn because I couldn't even beat the first level.

Choosing what movie to watch...

Our own bang, watching Life of Pi.
The book is way better.

More food!

The last night John was here, we ate dinner with Mia and Justin around PNU.

We have a meal of duck and fried rice. MORE FOOD.

Then we went to the Dragon Cave Bar.

Mia and Justin inside the cave!

We actually didn't stay here. I ended up getting sick on a crazy cab ride and went home early!

And just like that, John's trip was over. When he left, I cried for a whole day, of course. I had forgotten how wonderful it was to spend each day with a person who reminds you that life doesn't have to be so tough or serious. Life can be warm and easy. I miss him more than ever.

John's Visit IV

Later on in the week, John and I spent some time on the beach side of Busan. First, we went to Spa Land in Centum City.

The lights in this room constantly changed colors. No filter.

John in the Roman Room

Janelle in the Himalayan Salt Room

I've been here so many times and never noticed the foot spa outside.

Then we took the subway to Jansang. Our first stop was the Puppy Cafe.

Dogs were friendly, but it was a small place to keep that many dogs!

And then there was this guy...

Then we went to the Haedong Yongungsa Temple.

We walked up an unmarked path...

... and found our way to the top of the cliffs.

Mini Buddha statues were left all over the stones.

The temple, built right on the ocean cliffs.

Some more pictures from around the temple...

Finally, we ended our day at the beach and Gwangali Bridge.

We had a sampler from Galmegi, one of the few places I know that brews their own beer.
I hadn't had a porter in ages! So good!

Then we went to the bridge at night and played with some sparklers.
