Later, bruh... I'm on Spring Break. |
Andrew and I kicked off Spring Break with a snowboarding trip to Lake Tahoe. By the graciousness of my folks, we stayed at their timeshare
The Ridge Sierra. It had everything you could need-- a warm fireplace, full working kitchen, and a Jacuzzi on every rooftop

That morning light tho... |
The first day we spent at
Homewood to practice my non-existing snowboarding skills. We were pleasantly surprised by quality and size of the resort. Lots of trails and nice snow. HOWEVER, the next day we went to
Heavenly. No other ski resort I've ever been to has compared to the sheer scale and beauty of this place. The snowboarding runs were perfect. Everyone we shared a ski lift with was charming and enjoying themselves so much.

Heavenly is right... |
A friend suggested that we rent our snowboards from
Sports Basement in Berkeley, which ended up being half of what we would have paid if we rented in Tahoe. Tip: Rent in your home city!

Us two... |
Snowboarding was something I never thought I would be able to do. And yet, I surprised myself! On this excursion, I finally learned how to carve and for the first time experienced some PURE enjoyment of snowboarding. We treated our tired muscles and bruised bodies to well deserved meals every night.
