SAN FRANCISCO with JONATHAN
Since I will soon be away from the city by the Bay, Jonathan and I spent the day at The Persidio at the Walt Disney Family Museum and Fort Point.
Miniature replica of the original plans of Disneyland. |
Thought to be the first sketch of Micky Mouse. And look who's right next to him... Minnie. They were always meant to be. |
From the museum, we took a walk down Crissy Fields straight to the hidden gem Fort Point. Such as cool historic site (completely free to walk in), but on top of that there is a killer panoramic view of the city and golden Gate Bridge.
At the very top you are RIGHT NEXT to the Golden Gate Bridge. |
What's a photo op without a yoga pose? |

HAWAIIAN FAMILY REUNION
Aloha, it's my family. |
When I was growing up the yearly family reunion consisted of a pot luck style gathering, bingo, and possible line dancing. In recent years our annual gathering has leveled up! This year was a Hawaiian Themed Luau held at my folks place... equip with a photo booth, a whole roasted pig, and leis galore.
Everyone came in, put on a lei and went straight to our makeshift photo booth. |
Pictures from the photo both taken with my Polaroid. |
We spent the entire day grazing through breakfast, lunch, and dinner. |
Mango Cake |
This year my mom outdid herself! Behold... A HALO HALO BAR! This tasty ice treat with beans and condensed milk is a Filipino stable. |
My generation, playing games on the floor. It's serious business. |
The older men tend to congregate. I've always wondered what it is they talk about. |

BREWERY ART WALK
We started off the day doing a little work-play and getting organically caffeinated at Urth Cafe.
Afterwards, we went to the Brewery Art Walk. This art walk is hosted biannually in a HUGE artist-in-residence community which was formally a Pabst Blue Ribbon Brewery. We spent the whole afternoon walking freely through each artist's unique homes/work spaces. It would have been impossible to see them all, it was just MASSIVE. Here are a few pictures from the day.
My favorite exhibition was from Madam X and the Human Being Society. |
