PLAN CHECK with JONAH

I so lucky to have some extraordinary people in my life.  The kind that have your back, no matter how many years pass without speaking.  The kind of people who when seeing, will always feel like coming home.

Jonah and I have certainly come a long way since Mr. French's 8th grade English Class.  And I can't wait to see what's in store for us next.

SNOWBOARDING in TAHOE

Later, bruh... I'm on Spring Break.

Andrew and I kicked off Spring Break with a snowboarding trip to Lake Tahoe.  By the graciousness of my folks, we stayed at their timeshare The Ridge Sierra.  It had everything you could need-- a warm fireplace, full working kitchen, and a Jacuzzi on every rooftop

That morning light tho...

The first day we spent at Homewood to practice my non-existing snowboarding skills.  We were pleasantly surprised by quality and size of the resort. Lots of trails and nice snow.  HOWEVER, the next day we went to Heavenly. No other ski resort I've ever been to has compared to the sheer scale and beauty of this place.  The snowboarding runs were perfect.  Everyone we shared  a ski lift with was charming and enjoying themselves so much.

Heavenly is right...

A friend suggested that we rent our snowboards from Sports Basement in Berkeley, which ended up being half of what we would have paid if we rented in Tahoe.  Tip:  Rent in your home city!

Us two...

Snowboarding was something I never thought I would be able to do.  And yet, I surprised myself!  On this excursion, I finally learned how to carve and for the first time experienced some PURE enjoyment of snowboarding.  We treated our tired muscles and bruised bodies to well deserved meals every night.

Criteria for post snowboarding meals: MEAT.

TOTORO PUZZLE

Oh the simple pleasures in life! There is something so satisfying about finding two puzzle pieces that fit and snapping them into one another.

Throughout my time in Disney World, I actually bought all of my souvenirs in Epcot Japan-- of which included a 5-Pack of Naruto themed socks, a Sailor Moon shirt, and this Miyazaki Puzzle.

SWEET ADALINE

This bakeshop can do no wrong.
My favorites are the simple classics: almond tea cakes and chocolate chip oatmeal cookies.

PUPUSA STREET

Every weekend near 9th Street and Vermont there is a street lined with pupusa vendors.  They are made hot and fresh to order.  The girl who helped us order from her mothers cart took a liking to us and gave us some choco to try that day.

Street Food

Seriously best pupusa ever.

NOT CHOCOLATE, as I had originally thought.

EL CAPITAN THEATER

The El Capitan is the place to have a leveled up screening of Disney films. Before Zootopia even started there was a pre-show including a live organ player, zoologist with live animals, and a dance performance from Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde themselves.

Keeping the wonder alive.

Yes, this is all it's hyped up to be.

Ordered a little bit of everything.
