WARRIOR

My recent contemplations about self love have led me to the brink of something radical.

I don't need people to approve of me. Or even to understand me for that matter.
As long as I have kind intentions. So long as I act from a place of love. It's enough.

I want to continually choose moment by moment, the actions and thoughts that will bring the most kindness, the most healing, and the most love to a situation.  The practice of a warrior.

Wally's cafe

Wally's Cafe has been on my bucket list since I've moved to this side of Oakland.  This hidden gem (literally hidden from street view behind a bar) certainly lived up to the expectations.  The free lentil soup alone is worth the visit!

Enough to make me go vegetarian for a meal :)

Melt in your mouth goodness!

VALENTINE'S DAY

I had no idea where we were going, but when we ended up at a cemetery I was intrigued.  When I found out we were going to watch Harold and Maude, I was elated!  We appropriately spent Valentines day evening watching Harold and Maude in a graveyard, thanks to The Frida Cinema.

This movies has become one of my favorites.  It's a beautiful story, true to the nature of life and love.  And it has a killer soundtrack of songs by Cat Stevens.

KARMA's BABY in LA

Valentines day, Presidents Day, and an extended Chinese New Year all rolled into one Epic Karma's Baby road trip!

We spent the weekend celebrating Presidents, Love, China and our own awesomeness.

Andrew graciously hosted us and took us out to do a homework excursion with him.

First stop was this eclectic little cafe.

Gotta get our CHAI!
Next stop was the Fire Department Museum, someplace Andrew had to go to for some class credit.  Turned out to be much more interesting than anticipated.

The next day we went hiking at Runyon Canyon, a great place to get your sweat on as well as people watch.  Oh LA.

In the evening, we went to China Town for the last day of celebration of the New Years.

On our way back to the bay, we recorded a couple more clips for Karma's Baby and popped into Alexis' grandparents home to help her grandma buy a vacuum, which was pretty darn cute.

The end.
